Fright Nights Update

Hello Kinshira friends and flame enthusiasts!

We are now 12 days into our Fright Nights endeavour and things have been moving along with absolute ease... well most of the time. We were lucky enough to have our first week rain free, which made our job very easy, but recently the weather has gotten a little wetter. As some of you may know it rains a lot in Vancouver and we have had to adapt to being able to deal with slippery grounds. For the most part it means making our shows safer for ourselves and the audience by limiting our stilt walkers and acrobatics, but the shows remain entertaining, beautiful and exciting and the crowds have been leaving happy.

On the upside an extra member of our troupe has arrived, Will the intense nunchucker, poi spinner, and sword fighter. His presence has increased the variety of sets we are able to perform now including the fire sword battle sequence and we pulled the sets off with absolute success last night (with a little help from dryer weather). Newer sets still to come including the kung fu fight and poi and nunchuck routines.

Big weekend coming up, what is this occasion called again... oh yes! HALLOWE'EN! I think that this means we have to go all out with crazy costumes and make up, as well as stilt walkers and perhaps a great gathering of all of the Fright Nights creepy misfits in a group Monster Mash, Kinshira Style. (Pssst! We might just bring out the fire skipping rope for this one.)

So in conclusion, Kinshira life is busy and exciting as usual with exceptional craziness about to commence this weekend with all of our members present and even a little help from our Fright Nights friends. Hope to see you out there and we'll take pictures for those who can't.

Much love to all ~Kinshira
